Data collected each field season is due November 30, along with complete
metadata describing the data and how it was collected. Data and metadata will
be submitted directly to the MOFEP Web site. Data can be submitted in ASCII space or
character delimited text files, or in dBase or Access files. Further questions
on data and metadata submission and formatting should be directed to: Julie Fleming (573/882-9909 ext. 3253, e-mail: julie.fleming@mdc.mo.gov
).
For details on MOFEP data accessibility and other legal guidelines, please see MOFEP Data Guidelines.
Publishing:
We recommend the following protocol.
The Missouri Department of Conservation, as the funding agency, has the right to publish data, if the
principal investigator has not yet done so, three years after completing the final report or ten years following project inception.
It is the responsibility of each principal investigator to contact others when they desire to collaborate on a
publication. Authorship of collaborated publications should be mutually decided upon by those involved.
The Missouri Department of
Conservation will receive a copy of all published papers regarding the MOFEP study, and should be recognized as a major
contributor on the project.
Annual Meetings:
The annual meeting will be in early November each year. Presentations should
focus on summarizing your reports.
Annual Reports:
Due November 1 for all MOFEP studies.
Report Format:
- Title
- Author(s)
- Abstract
- Introduction
- Methods
- Sites
- Instrumentation
- Sampling
- Chemical analysis
- Etc., etc.
- Results and Discussion (separate if you desire)
- Conclusions
- Literature citations
This report should be of publishable quality and should focus on all of your
previous seasons. These reports will be distributed at the annual meeting.
These reports satisfy contract requirements with universities. A thesis or
dissertation will not replace the November 1 report.
